VACCINATIONS FOR DOGS & CATS

Protect your pets and keep them safe by keeping them up-to-date on their vaccinations. When puppies and kittens are born, they are protected from infections by their mother's milk (providing she has been regularly vaccinated) – however, this protection only lasts a few weeks. This means your new playmates need regular pet vaccinations from an early age. Older pets need protection too, because their immunity often declines as they age. Puppies are typically vaccinated at 8 and 10 weeks and kittens at 9 and 12 weeks with an initial course of two injections. Your young pet should then be given a booster 12 months after their first vaccination. You are welcome to ask our vet about the regularity of your companion's vaccinations. They vary depending on the diseases prevalent in our area.
